Facebook Class Action

McPhadden Samac Tuovi has commenced a proposed class action against Facebook arising from its Friends Data Scrape Feature that allowed third parties to harvest the private Facebook data of hundreds of thousands of Canadians without their knowledge or consent.

A company by the name of Cambridge Analytica is one of those third parties but is only the most sensational and widely publicized example of this practice but there are many more app developers who were similarly able to obtain massive amounts of information through Facebook without the consent of Facebook users, the owners of the information.
This lawsuit is about Facebook’s data sharing practices with all third-party app developers until changes were implemented in April 2015.

If you were a Facebook user prior to April 2015, you are a putative class member and we would like to hear from you. We encourage you to complete the online questionnaire found at the link below. Doing so will provide us with more details regarding the breach and enable us to more readily communicate with you and other class members.
